Two waking trails will allow you to walk over the same groun that was hotly contested on December 13, 1862. Consists of a seven mile auto loop, the route provides you with an overview of this battle. Located on route 20, provides a visual overview of this campain. The trail deals with the opening Union assault across Saunders Field and Confederate General John B. Gordons flank attack. 6 mile historic trail encompasses the majority of the field and concentrates on some of the hardest fighting of the war. Take an informative trolley tour through the streets of old town Fredericksburg. Come visit the area where a Nation formed it's history! |
